Prince Caspian

Unit Overview/Goal: The goal of this unit was to understand the 5 main elements of fiction stories.  The elements we focused on were determining the Plot, setting, conflict, theme and Characters. We utilized the book the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to read aloud and analyze these 5 elements and show our understand by completing the student workbook.

It is important to identify these 5 parts because they are the heart of a fiction story. They tell you what's going on and when, why, and where.  Every story needs a time and place that's called setting.  Every fiction story needs characters because that is what makes the story alive. in some story the theme can be in the future, or the past, good vs bad. The problems are what the whole book is about that is conflict. The events are plot.
