the lion the witch the wardrobe elements unit 1 

 The goal of this unit was to understand the 5 main elements of fiction stories.  The elements we focused on were determining the Plot, setting, conflict, theme and Characters. We utilized the book the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to read aloud and analyze these 5 elements and show our understand by completing the student workbook.

 

 
Unit Overview/Goal:

 

It is important  to be able to identify these 5 parts to a fiction story because, it hints details of what will happen next. You can use this skill to many other books or even non fiction or fiction. This skill can be used to retell stories or advertise the book.
Enduring Understanding
Strength

I  Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. I was able to find information from the book that I need, and was able to fit it with various numbers of my thinkings about the characters.

 

Areas for improvment

Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.

I had a few problems finding where the new information would fit in. I took a long time figuring out how to make to plot or conflict make sense.
